Over het bedrijf
Thanks to our experience with and knowledge of equestrian sports, we can quickly assess the talent and potential of horses. Most horses of Jelske Dekkers Sporthorses come to our stables around the age of two years old. During the selection, we have the horses jump freely to quickly assess the horse’s jumping talent. If this talent is naturally present, we purchase the horse and start them on a carefully thought through route in which the horse is trained to become a fully-fledged jump horse.
During the first period, the horse is fully trained, which includes being backed. When a horse is between three and four years old, we begin their participation in competitions so that they can gain experience. We train horses to top level. When a horse has achieved this level, we offer it on the market for sport horses.
Wie is Jelske?
Who is Jelske?
At age six, Jelske Dekkers (1999) began horse-riding on her own Shetlander called ‘Timmy’. She proved rather talented and began participating in show jumping competitions at the age of twelve. In 2014, she started training ponies. During this time, she experienced several milestones. She and her ponies participated in competitions in the Z class, she showed one of her ponies at Indoor Brabant, and sold two of the ponies she trained to international buyers.
As of 2017, Jelske also focuses on training with and the training of jumpers. She is ambitious and thinks it is important to continually keep developing herself, which is why she attends dressage training classes and jumping classes each week in addition to following a Dieren & Ondernemen (Animals & Entrepreneurship) study programme.
During the first period, the horse is fully trained, which includes being backed. When a horse is between three and four years old, we begin their participation in competitions so that they can gain experience. We train each horse until it is a fully-fledged sport horse, and is therefore ready to be sold.
